Blue Spring BMAP Meeting

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Volusia County Extension Office

3100 E New York Ave.

DeLand, FL 32724-6497

The nutrient total maximum daily load (TMDL) for nitrate for the Blue Spring was adopted on July 17, 2014.  The next step is to develop a BMAP to specify how the required reductions will be achieved.  The BMAP will be the formal implementation plan to achieve the TMDL. The impaired area (as noted in the TMDL) is indicated by the outline of the area for the Volusia Blue Springshed (see map below). All possibly affected parties are encouraged to attend and participate in the BMAP development process. Possible affected stakeholders include local governments (counties, cities, towns, etc.), MS4 permittees (Phase I and Phase II), NPDES wastewater permit holders with nutrient discharges, and agriculture.
