Dave Wilson and Tom Morris are hosting a springs Institute field trip to Silver Glen Springs on Saturday, March 26, 2016.  We will meet at Dave’s house at 9 am, consolidate transportation, and leave from there.

On the way to the springs, which are located in the Ocala National Forest, we will stop and discuss two of Florida’s driest plant communities; longleaf pine sandhill and sand pine scrub.

We will swim/snorkel at the springs and take a short hike to the nearby sand boil springs, so bring bathing suits and snorkeling equipment.

If you would like to read about Silver Glen Springs, see this Springs Eternal Project website.

Space is limited to the first 20 registrants. Donations go to support the good work of the Institute.

Contact Dave Wilson for more info.

Update: If you are coming from out of town (i.e. Gainesville), you might want to go directly to the spring and meet us there at about 10:30-11:00AM. Be sure to bring bathing suit, snorkel, mask, sunscreen, and lunch. Entry into the park is $5.50 per person.

The Florida Springs Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. All or a portion of your donation may be tax deductible. FEIN 46-1663401.
