6th Annual Give Springs A Break
June 6 @ 10:00 am - June 9 @ 4:00 pm
AN ANNUAL SPRINGS PROGRAM
The Howard T. Odum Florida Springs Institute is hosting our 6th Annual Give Springs a Break event at Ginnie Springs Outdoors from Thursday, June 6th – Sunday, June 9th. This weekend event is full of fun and learning, specifically planned for college students and young professionals who are passionate and concerned about our environment and the future of Florida’s freshwater resources.
UNTIL GSAB 19'!
We ensure this by offering just as much time to relax and experience the springs as we will spend learning about them! Optional activities include morning spring side yoga, live music, paddling adventures, various springs field trips, river tubing, and plenty of time to unwind on your own or let loose with friends.
The educational portion of this event will cover basic environmental science topics related to Florida’s water resources, such as hydrogeology, springs ecology and biology; then educate you on the main environmental and human threats facing Florida’s waters. The Florida Springs Institute and their partnering organizations spend countless hours researching these resources and developing the most effective solutions for these issues. From environmental impacts, our curriculum will shift towards how we address our current water crisis, giving you the tools and communication methods you need to change our environmental future.
