Springs Outing: Turtle Expedition
There are turtles basking in the sun left and right on the Ichetucknee, so it’s about time we all learn more about these springs natives.
On Saturday, June 10th, the Florida Springs Institute will be taking 15 people down the Ichetucknee River to teach you about Florida’s native turtle species! FSI’s aquatic ecologist, Bill Hawthorne, will be leading the 3.5 mile expedition.
See ticket price options below!
The park opens at 8am, and there is a park entry fee of $6 per car. The park entry fee is NOT included in your ticket price. To ensure that the park is not at its carrying capacity before you arrive, we recommend being at the SOUTH entrance at 7:30am. Purchase the ticket that includes board rentals if you do not have your own. We will rent them in advance to prevent running into a board shortage. Once all of the rentals have been picked up, we will shuttle from the South entrance to the North entrance. From the North entrance, the guided tour will begin. Expect to spend around 2 hours on the water (3-4 hours in total for the whole expedition).
South Entrance Address: 12087 US Hwy 27, Fort White, FL 32038
