The State of Water Celebration – Cade Museum

Join us at the inaugural State of Water Celebration at Cade Museum on Thursday, April 27th. Enjoy delicious dinner, drinks, beer, wine, and amazing water-inspired 2D, 3D, and video art, a moving presentation from Florida author Rick Kilby, and a water-themed silent auction!

Browse a collection of water-inspired 2D, 3D, and video art selected by a jury for The State of Water Art Exhibition. The exhibition contains more than 35 pieces of water related art, and is a must see for art and water lovers alike! Enjoy mingling with the artists in the exhibition space and celebrating our exhibition winners.

Enjoy acclaimed author Rick Kilby’s “Right Beneath Our Feet: My Gainesville Water Story.” Presentation on the magical waters he grew up in and how they are connected to both our history and our future. One lucky attendee will even take home one of his award-winning books with a personal note from Rick!

Bid on adventure experiences and gear in our water-themed silent auction. Your bids benefit both Florida Springs Institute and Current Problems!

Evening Program

  • 6:00 – 7:00 pm : Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks as you mingle with artists and water enthusiasts and view the art exhibition
  • 7:00 – 8:00 pm : Our evening program includes a presentation on our springs delivered by award-winning author Rick Kilby and the presentation of artist awards
  • 8:00 – 8:30 pm : Visit our silent auction table one last time (Our auction will close promptly at 8:15), enjoy the art exhibition, and visit with the springs community

Suggested Attire : SHADES OF BLUE – collared shirts, dresses, long pants, slacks. We want everyone in their own shade of blue!


Ticket Price : $45 a person or $80 for two people (Use code “discount”)

Student Price : $25/student (bring student ID)

Ticket includes entry into the Cade Museum and The State of Water Art Exhibition, heavy hors d’ oeuvres, 2 drinks.

This community event is one of three planned in April to celebrate our Florida waters! Proceeds of the events gives Play Hard Florida the ability to provide continuing support to nonprofits that are working to protect our amazing natural resources.
