Springs Academy is six course program which takes place on the first (with the exception of holiday’s) Tuesday of each month . Springs Academy Courses are as follows: Class 1: Springs Overview, Class 2: Springs Hydrogeology, Class 3: Springs Biology, Class 4: Springs Chemistry, Class 5: Springs Stresses, and Class 6: Springs Advocacy.

Springs Outing Feature


Springs Outings are monthly guided expeditions to springs, rivers, or parks in the north and central Florida regions. Spring Outing locations usually stand out for their unique trails, waterways, geology, and hydrogeology giving the group much to learn about Florida’s terrain and it’s rich history.

SFS Feature


Springs Field School is our most advanced springs education program! This course will teach attendees everything from Florida springs basic hydrogeology, biology, and chemistry to advanced water quality testing methods, state management regulations, and what is needed to conserve this natural resource.


Join the Florida Springs Institute for a weekend of music, organic farming, yoga, camping, and community in support of our springs! Into the Springs will once again be held in the serene setting of Deep Spring Farm, a twenty two acre organic farm featuring two beautiful spring fed ponds. Early bird ticket pricing begins July 21st, and runs until August 20th.

SpringsWatch Feature


SpringsWatch is our monthly citizen science springs monitoring program that facilitates  “hands-on” volunteer participation while also contributing to springs research efforts around the state. Currently, we have six SpringsWatch groups: Silver, Ichetucknee, Rainbow, Santa Fe, Weeki Wachee, and Homosassa River spring systems.

sAVE our springs: Mermaid GALA

Save Our Springs: Mermaid Gala is our annual fundraiser and biggest fundraising event of the year! At this event, guests have the opportunity to learn about the important work that our organization is doing to protect our springs and aquifer, while also enjoying an elegant evening celebrating environmental protection!

Give Springs A Break (GSAB) is an annual spring-time educational program for students and young professionals. This program is a fantastic way for young adults to immerse themselves in nature while also gaining the skills needed to create positive change surrounding environmental and water issues amidst an increasingly challenging social/political climate.

Our yearly educational retreat, Give Springs A Break (GSAB), which takes place at Ginnie Springs Outdoors and is aimed towards young people, attracted 42 students and young professionals from around the state making it our biggest GSAB event!
