FLORIDA SPRINGS NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA

National Heritage Areas are places where historic, cultural, and natural resources combine to form cohesive, nationally important landscapes. The Florida Springs Institute is pursuing a National Heritage Area designation for Florida’s 1,000+ freshwater springs because:

1. Florida is unlike anywhere else in the world

2. National Heritage Areas tell important stories

3. National Heritage Areas aren’t a government takeover, they are power in the hands of the people.
